Nowhere else in the world is CCTV used so widely for Public Area Surveillance than in the UK.
In the UK it has achieved a unique level of support from the public and the media, being seen to provide more the role of a 'Benevolent Father' helping to reduce crime and catch offenders rather than any perception of 'Big Brother', a term most responsible CCTV managers and operators would shy away from being associated with.
