We are delighted to welcome John Knight of 'ANPR Assist' and ANPR Guru as our latest member joining the CCTV User Group.
John, retired in June 2019 after a long and successful 43 year career in Thames Valley Police; 30 years as a police officer and his last 13 years in ANPR, latterly as Joint ANPR Manager, Thames Valley Police & Hampshire Constabulary.
John is a highly accomplished ANPR Subject Matter Expert. Recent achievements with TVP include merging two large force ANPR Units into a single unit and implemented a change of maintenance support across two police force areas resulting in a saving of circa. £320k resulting from one change decision and many more thousands more over time.
From 2013 until he retired, John was the ANPR Subject Matter Expert (SME) working for the Home Office in London on the development of the National ANPR Service (NAS). Amongst other responsibilities, he was responsible for defining the requirements of the new system in order that it would be future proof and capable of being rolled out nationally.
John says he can offer consultancy advice on legislation & regulations and current ANPR best practice and would be pleased to assist anyone new to ANPR in selecting the correct equipment and communications in order to obtain best value for money and the highest effective use of ANPR.
He is probably one of the most experienced Police ANPR experts in the UK and is keen to assist, hence the company name! John has offered to be an ANPR adviser working with the CCTV User Group members and we're really pleased to have him join us.
