BT has clarified its plans to close the Redcare service on 1st August 2025.
Following recent enquiries with the BT team about the news released last week where they announced the plans to close the Redcare service on 1st August, 205, we are now able to clarify the position.
A BT spokesman told us "It seems that the arm of BT known as 'Redcare' (their phone line monitoring business) was split off from the main company several years ago and the closure is about the alarm signalling business and not the CCTV business.
The CCTV side of things carries on to operate as it always has. People can still order new circuits and we are still maintaining everything as we always have done. If you have any alarm signalling running on BT Redcare equipment, this would need to be changed out by your alarm company, other than that, you should be ok."
We appreciate the comment from the BT team.
From Google when asked what is BT Redcare
BT Redcare offers a secure form of alarm monitoring. The service provides continuous monitoring of a BT telephone line that links a professionally installed alarm system on your premises to an alarm receiving centre.
