See how CCTV and ANPR is done in Kortrijk, Belgium

I saw this in Kortrijk, Belgium over last Christmas and New Year. I counted 3 ANPR readers and 4 CCTV cameras on a tiny pole in a pedestrian plaza.

This installation is clearly non-compliant on so many levels! There are no CCTV signs anywhere in sight either. Clearly it has been impacted by a vehicle too.

You might be inclined to question why so many cameras are required as the bicycle isn't secured in any way at all so no "high levels of street crime" to justify the installation! I know this town very well and there is very little crime of any sort. In fact, if you see a member of the Police it's normally a sign that there's about to be a cycle race!

It was a glorious blue sky day though.
